A WORD FROM OUR FOUNDER

Sara Porritt

I founded Common Language Press to create the kinds of books I wanted on my own family’s bookshelf: thoughtful stories that help families connect, understand one another, and have conversations that matter.

As a working mom raising two young children in a biracial family, I know how meaningful even a few minutes of genuine connection can be. That experience inspired our first book, Where Do You Go When You’re Not With Me, a playful and reassuring story about imagination, curiosity, and the love that keeps us connected even when we’re apart.
